THE WALK & TALK
This is where the fun starts. We walk the site, you talk the dream. We look at sun, wind, water and soil. I give tips and tricks & simple solutions and then walk away and formulate a plan. This plan is a step by step guide and reference manual for moving ahead. This is where we also begin the site design process if that's what you want and need.
ONGOING SUPPORT
After you receive the plan I am here for all the clarifying questions. I'm also here for all those questions that come once the implementation process begins. There is no such thing as a silly question. Sometimes I come and give hands on support or tutoring during certain stages, no matter the context, I remain here for you, cheering you on and giving you any support you need.

What is Permaculture design?
I get asked a lot how Permaculture design differs from standard Landscape design so here is a brief explanation.

In Permaculture design there are 2 very important ethics that all plans must reflect. EARTH CARE and PEOPLE CARE. It is about meeting the human desires & needs along with the needs natural landscape or 'lay of the land' and creating designs and systems that have minimal negative impact on the natural site. In fact, the ultimate goal is to actually have a positive impact on the natural systems. All consults and designs start with a 'site analysis'. This is a process in which we study the ecological value of the land on which you live. We study the shape of the land, the topographical position (is it in a valley or is it on a hill? does it have a slope?). We also study the flow of the water, the patterns of the sun, the structure of the soil and the animals and plants already on site. This process is incredibly important as it informs us on on the 'What' & the 'Where' of the design elements. It is also a way of starting your connection to the land itself. It is the beginning of a relationship with the land where you observe and then interact.
The ethic of Earth care also extends to the 'how' - the way in which we build our dream garden and the materials we use to get there. This means we integrate both traditional technologies such as self watering systems called Ollas and new technologies such as solar powered pumps or even aquaponics. Permaculture is about getting creative and incorporates all manner of ideas and processes. It is about finding what is suitable for you and your land.
​Simply put: Permaculture design is a puzzle. The pieces are all the human needs and the natural needs and my job is to help you put together into one harmonious system creation that ends in a space you can enjoy and thrive.
