Women's building workshop

11 OCTOBER 2025

BACKYARD BOUNTY
A workshop for growing abundance at home

NOVEMBER 29th

Launceston, Tas

UTAS COMMUNITY GARDEN
Launceston, Tas

Sawdust & Sass’ - Women who build is a one-day, hands-on woodworking workshop designed to empower women by teaching them how to build a simple, functional wooden box or stool from scratch. Participants will be introduced to basic woodworking tools, safety practices, and techniques in a supportive, collaborative environment.

The goal is to create a space where women can build both confidence and community while learning practical skills—walking away with a beautiful, handmade box and a renewed sense of empowerment.

Come spend a day in the garden!

Join me  for a 1-day Veggie Growing Workshop — a relaxed, hands-on day where we’ll explore all the essentials for growing abundance at home. We’ll dig into soil health, seed propagation, pest and disease management, and garden maintenance — all with a practical, down-to-earth approach that makes gardening fun and achievable for everyone.

Even better — Community Gardens Tasmania will be hosting their Annual Gathering at the same venue on the same day with special guest Costa! It’s a wonderful chance to meet local growers, share ideas, and celebrate the amazing community that keeps our gardens thriving.

If you’ve been wanting to start your veggie patch (or get more out of the one you have), this is the perfect day to get inspired, learn new tricks, and connect with like-minded people.

Tickets are limited (max 14 people) so be quick to grab your spot!
